HAFDA
Time of healing: 6 - 10 weeks.
This Piercing originates from Arabian
tribes of North Africa. A ring is pierced through the left side of the ball
sack, to clearly
mark
the transition from boy to man. Soldiers of the Foreign Legion did introduce the
Hafda to Europe.
The chance of success is greatest if the piercing is done through the anterior part of the sack, since this is the place less likely to provoke rejection of the jewel. Nowadays, it's customary to mount two rings, one at each side of the middle. More Hafadas can be fixed through the natural suture of the ball sack, although we do not recommend this to be done at the same time, but rather consecutively over a suitable period of time. Doing it too swiftly, carries with it quite a lot of discomfort and a much prolonged time of healing.
Many Piercers advice against this Piercing, since a too deep hole in the sack may pave the way for bacteria and uncleanness, risking quite dangerous infections to occur.
