Prince Albert (PA)
Time of healing: 6 - 12 weeks.
A
PA is the most common genital piercing in men. It is named after Prince Albert
of England, who at the age of 25 years (1842-43) got a ring inserted through the
head of the penis. The purpose probably being to fasten the penis to the inside
of the thigh and avoiding any visible bulge of the tight trousers attributable
the penis. Accordingly, it served as a
Adressing
ring@.
Many men find this location of a jewel to be quite virile, while their female partners may experience added erotic stimulation.
The jewel passes through the urethra from the urinary hole and out on the backside to the left or right of the frenum. A ring is the proper choice in most cases, since rods or other jewels may be more inconvenient.
The time of healing is likely to be relatively uneventful. Right after the piercing, there may be a short period of bleeding. Likewise, you may experience slightly painful urination, all of which is perfectly normal and should not cause any anxiety.
Permanently, you have been provided with an extra urinary hole, so the urine will flow out of both holes, unless you are able to close the new one by a finger or to pull the foreskin into a forward position. Furthermore, the stream of urine will be split into at least two portions rendering the aiming of it somewhat difficult. All of this may cause some problems while urinating in a standing position, and much less so if you are seated.
Inverse Prince Albert (PA)
Time of healing: 6 - 10 weeks.
This
piercing is performed as a partial Apadravya, with a pierced channel from the
mid-portion of the
penis head and into the urethra, so that the ring passes through this conduct
and out from the urinary hole. Such a piercing is more plastic and flexible than
an Apadravya, also due to the fact that a ring is used rather than a rod.
An inverse PA may be combined with a PA without any trouble attributable to the rings, since they are placed side by side inside the urethra.
